The Sainik Schools are a system of schools in India established and managed by the Sainik Schools Society under Ministry of Defence (MoD). MoD run Sainik Schools as joint venture with the respective state governments. These School is recognized by the CBSE. The College offers only the Science Stream at the +2 level. The objective of the Sainik Schools is to prepare the students to lead as officers in the Defence Services of the country. The schools select bright and promising students through an All India Sainik School Entrance Examination and focus on moulding their overall personality with emphasis on extracurricular activities.
ADMISSION PROCEDURE
The school is a residential institution for boys/girls. Admissions are made once a year in April, in classes VI and IX only. Candidates must qualify in the entrance examination to be eligible for admission. Girls so far can take admission from class VIth only.

Boys who are between the age of 10 – 12 years and 13 – 15 years respectively on 1st July of the year in which admission is sought are eligible to take the examination for entry in Class VI and IX respectively.

EDUCATION
Candidates should have passed Class V for Cass VI from a govt/recognized school before the date of admission to a Rashtriya military school. However, a student studying in Class V is eligible to appear in the respective Entrance Test. Similarly for the XI class admission too.
RESERVATIONOF VACANCIES
The candidates of Uttarakhand domicile will be entitled for 67 % seats including reservation for SC / ST / Defence categories and 33% seats are offered to boys of other states.
ENTRANCE EXAMINATION.
Admission to Sainik Schools is on the basis of an All India Written Exam and a medical test. There is no interview. Girls are given admission in selected Sainik Schools.
